Privacy notice — draft for legal review

Who controls a child's account?
A parent or guardian creates the family account, adds children, chooses learning material, and controls what children can submit. Children cannot create independent accounts. A parent can review and delete family data.
What we collect
We store account names and email addresses, child names and learning details entered by the parent, lessons, schedules, answers, uploaded work, grades, habits, and account activity needed to operate the service. Payment details are collected by Stripe; we retain subscription status and billing identifiers, not complete card numbers.
How AI is used
When a family asks for AI assistance, relevant lesson text, questions, grading criteria, or a student's draft may be sent to our AI provider to generate a response. Parent grading suggestions remain private until a parent saves a grade. Student coaching notes stay with the student's draft and are removed when the answer is submitted. AI can make mistakes; parents make final teaching and grading decisions.
Sharing and retention
We use service providers for hosting, private file storage, email, payments, and AI processing. We do not sell child information or use it for targeted advertising. Family work remains available for export after a trial or payment ends. A parent may request deletion in the account data screen. Operational backups may retain deleted data for a limited recovery period.
Parent choices
Parents can export their family's records and uploaded files, delete the family account, or contact support for access, correction, and privacy questions. We will verify authority before responding to requests about a child.
Launch review required: The operator must add its legal identity, address, service provider list, precise retention windows, and jurisdiction-specific parent consent process before inviting public families.
